<![CDATA[Why was the WNFLB created?]]>It was founded due to the poor representation of women's employment opportunities in most football leagues. Over the previous years, women have been given limited chances to compete in sports compared to their male counterparts due to the limited support given to women in the sports industry. To address this, the WNFLB was formed to have a professional league where women can play football. It is envisaged that this way the WNFLB will be able to empower the female players, encourage young girls to take up sports, and ensure equal rights of women, especially in sporting activities. The league aids in identifying talent and passion for women's football and helps to take the sport to another level on a national level.
