Mad River Garlic Growers' Inchelium Red is a colorful artichoke-type softneck garlic growing large, flattened bulbs that often reach diameters over three inches with pleasant off-white to tan skins overlaid with faint reddish-purple tones Mad River Garlic Growers.

This heirloom cultivar was initially discovered on the Colville Indian Reservation in Washington State and quickly gained notoriety, having won first prize in a 1990 taste competition held at Rodale Kitchens, Mad River Garlic Growers. Generally, each bulb contains four to five concentric layers of cloves, ranging from 8 to 20 cloves per head.

The flavor of Inchelium Red Garlic Seed is mostly mild with a little warmth that grows with prolonged storage, perfect for baking or mixing into mashed potatoes. Inchelium Red dries well for 8 to 10 months under the correct conditions and has flexible necks that are good for braiding. This garlic seed was raised under organic standards on a certified family farm in Ohio with conscientiousness about quality and sustainability; thus, perfect for gardeners who want good yields with great flavor.
