      Hi everyone,

I’m planning to renovate my bathroom and am considering solid surface countertops. I’ve read that they are durable, non-porous, and easy to maintain, which sounds ideal.

However, I’m unsure about a few things. How do solid surfaces compare to quartz or granite in terms of scratching, heat resistance, and long-term wear? Are there specific brands or finishes that are better for bathrooms?

Also, how difficult is it to repair minor scratches or stains at home? Any personal experiences, tips, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

      Thanks in advance!

        Hi!

I’ve used solid surface countertops in my bathroom for a few years, and here’s what I’ve learned: They are very durable and non-porous, so staining is rarely an issue, and cleaning is easy. Compared to quartz or granite, they scratch more easily and aren’t as heat-resistant, so avoid placing hot tools directly on them.

For my renovation, I specifically chose solid surface bathroom countertops because minor scratches or dents are simple to repair at home with light sanding or buffing. Brands like Corian or HI-MACS are great choices, and a matte finish helps hide water spots.

Overall, they are low maintenance and stylish, just be mindful of heat and sharp objects.
